“Heading eastward, despite all the cultural differences among peoples, we observe a constant that we would always whisper into the hearts of our dearest souls…
‘Love.’”
In the summer of 2025, I completed a 30-day cross-continental photography journey from Bologna to China, passing through cities such as Sarajevo, Belgrade, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Baku, and Almaty. I traveled alone with my 35mm film camera, tracing life, death, and emotional commonalities across cultures, guided by the commonalities of the historical path of the Silk Road.
I adopted a research-based, slow-observation approach — learning each country’s past along the bond between Europe and Asia shaped my creation. I also put effort into integrating myself into the daily life wherever I was, photographing people and their surroundings.
In the series, figures are usually captured from behind, as I see silhouettes of someone’s back as a canvas with depth that can carry the emotional weight of the perceiver. (2025)

“…Love for our beloved and strangers.
Love for the small things. For one sunny afternoon. For one breeze of the summer.
Love for life and all the livings. For the moment.
Love for the ability to connect despite gender, skin color, or language.
Love at a much higher and larger scale, that might even go beyond where we residence and where we could see, that might even transcend time.”
